University Information Technology Launches Intranet for Internal Staff

UIT logoThe University Information Technology department has more than 230 employees across the entire University of Houston System. To better connect with them, UIT is launching an intranet for staff, called Us In Technology Intranet.

“The intranet is one way to highlight the accomplishments of the team and the amazing people that work largely behind the scenes. We hope to establish a sense of community outside of the traditional organizational structure while providing a central access point to connect to useful resources and information,” said David W. Johnson, Assistant Vice President, Technology Services and Support.

The Us In Technology Intranet will engage staff with articles about current projects and accomplishments. Additionally, UIT employees will be recognized for their contributions to the department and university. The intranet will also serve to announce birthdays, celebrations, and work anniversaries.

A section will also highlight UIT employees with talents outside the office. In the first intranet, UIT staff will meet Greg Jonason, an Enterprise Systems Application Developer at the University of Houston, who creates amazing artwork with Legos.
